• Our Lady gave the following message 25 years ago on New Year’s Day, 1987. It was the penultimate weekly message given by the Blessed Mother. The following week (January 8) she announced she would no longer give her weekly messages but instead further messages would be announced on the 25th day of each month. More than two decades years later Our Lady is still with us and continues to invite and remind us to live the messages she is giving.
Dear children! Today I wish to call on all of you that in the New Year you live the messages which I am giving you. Dear children, you know that for your sake I have remained a long time so I might teach you how to make progress on the way of holiness. Therefore, dear children, pray without ceasing and live the messages which I am giving you for I am doing it with great love toward God and toward you. Thank you for having responded to my call. MARCH 2 MESSAGE TO MIRJANA
This is a time of your trial...
Dear children; through the immeasurable love of God I am coming among you and I am persistently calling you into the arms of my Son. With a motherly heart I am imploring you, my children, but I am also repeatedly warning you, that concern for those who have not come to know my Son be in the first place for you. Do not permit that by looking at you and your life, they are not overcome by a desire to come to know him. Pray to the Holy Spirit for my Son to be impressed within you. Pray that you can be apostles of the divine light in this time of darkness and hopelessness. This is a time of your trial. With a rosary in hand and love in the heart set out with me. I am leading you towards Easter in my Son. Pray for those whom my Son has chosen that they can always live through him and in him the High Priest. Thank you.

THOUGHTS ON THIS MESSAGE
Our Lady, as Mother of the Church, walks with the Church, is in harmony with the Church and its liturgical seasons. We can view this messsage in the context of Lent:
1. Our Lady reminds us that GOD LOVES us and sends his Blessed Mother to help us... through the immeasurable love of God I am coming among you...
2. Lent is a season of turnaround when we reflect on our sinfulness and turn back to God through prayer, penance and fasting... and I am persistently calling you into the arms of my Son.
3. She then reminds us and warns us again of our responsibilty to others, to love our neighbour, to be concerned for them, to pray for them... With a motherly heart I am imploring you, my children, but I am also repeatedly warning you, that concern for those who have not come to know my Son be in the first place for you.
4. She makes it clear that it is by our own good example that others will come to know the love of God in their lives, that they will meet with God in this way... Do not permit that by looking at you and your life, they are not overcome by a desire to come to know him.
5. But for this to happen we have to remain in Jesus, and this is done through the power of the Holy Spirit, the Spirit that Jesus sent to us... Pray to the Holy Spirit for my Son to be impressed within you... (I like the phrase ‘impressed within’. It has a sense of permanency.)
6. Pray that you can be apostles of the divine light in this time of darkness and hopelessness... It is the Holy Spirit that enlightens all hearts and we are asked to be bearers of this light, to share this gift to those who are in darkness, to be a witnesses to the love of God in our hearts and our lives...
7. This is a time of your trial... Lent is a time of trial and sacrifice, a time we walk with Jesus in his most difficult time and share his passion and help to carry his cross. There are opportunities for everyone to do this, especially amongst our families, our closest neighbours.
8. Praying the Rosary is walking with Jesus and we can reflect on his passion by reciting and meditating on the Sorrowful Mysteries. Our Lady will walk with us and even take the lead. When we join her then we will also have the opportunity of meeting with Jesus during the Way of the Cross... Self sacrifice is love in the heart... With a rosary in hand and love in the heart set out with me.
9. Our Lady always leads the way to her Son, and new life... to Resurrection and to living in Christ our Saviour (whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood lives in me, and I in them)... I am leading you towards Easter in my Son.
10. Pray for those whom my Son has chosen that they can always live through him and in him the High Priest... This may suggest that Our Lady is specifically speaking about consecrated priests, but we are all a chosen people, chosen to be an Easter people. “You are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a consecrated nation, a people set apart to sing the praises of God who called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light. Once you were not a people at all and now you are the People of God; once you were outside the mercy and now you have been given mercy.” (1 Peter 2 : 9-10)
