The Medjugorje Message: March 2 message of Our Lady to Mirjana

Dear children! My motherly heart suffers tremendously as I look at my children who persistently put what is human before what is of God, at my children who, despite everything that surrounds them and despite all the signs that are sent to them, think that they can walk without my Son. They cannot! They are walking to eternal perdition. That is why I am gathering you, who are ready to open your heart to me, you who are ready to be apostles of my love, to help me; so that by living God’s love you may be an example to those who do not know it. May fasting and prayer give you strength in that, and I bless you with the motherly blessing in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Thank you. APOSTLES OF LOVE...

In her latest message to Mirjana, Our Lady makes it very clear that there is much work still to be done in bringing God’s love into the hearts of many who walk a independent path that leads away from the companionship of Christ. And she reminds us this is why she is gathering those who have opened their heart to her motherly love and the love of God, to assist her in reaching those who have yet to know the love of God in their hearts. She calls us to witness with our lives and to be “apostles of love”.

Jesus gathered 12 apostles and commissioned them to bring the Gospel message, the message of love, to the lost sheep.

And Our Lady is doing the same, calling and commissioning us to be a good example to others by living in a way that is pleasing to God, to bring the Word of God to those in darkness, those who have yet to know the love of God. She has been making this call for the past 30 years from Medjugorje and in an earlier message she said: “Do not forget that your life does not belong to you, but is a gift with which you must bring joy to others and lead them to eternal life.” And that’s what an apostle is, an ambassador and a messenger. We are being blessed with the call to bring the message of eternal life to others. We are being called and prepared to be “Apostles of Love”.

Last year, yet another enquiry was commissioned to examine the “Medjugorje phenomenon”, this time by pope Benedict XVI. At some time in the future this latest commission will report its findings and the Holy See will more than likely make some statement as to the outcome of the study. It could be that Rome may decide that more time necessary to give further study to the phenomenon. Perhaps even a lifetime.

And it is then that we realise that the past 30 years of Our Lady giving messages from Medjugorje is almost equivalent to the lifespan that Jesus spent on this earth. Only three years of his life were spent in public ministry, the rest as preparation for his saving ministry. He was commissioned by the Father. At Medjugorje we are commissioned by the Mother, and the Holy Spirit promised to us by Jesus prior to his ascension into Heaven when he said: “I will not leave you orphans.”

Thank God that we have such a patient Mother to prepare us to be “Apostles of Love”.
